decent work, living income, cocoa sector

CARE's work in the cocoa sector is cross-cutting, engaging multiple technical teams, CARE member partners, Country Offices, corporations, and other actors in the sector. CARE works across four priority countries (Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, Cameroon, and Nigeria) to promote gender equality in the sector through a portfolio of individual projects and with individual brands. To date, this has been fragmented. CARE is now establishing a new Cocoa Community Inclusive and Sustainable Growth Impact Framework, employing cost effective, evidence-driven models, bringing the best from CARE’s current projects and assets in the sector so far. This program would be designed and delivered in collaboration with communities, civil society, governments, and private sector in the supply chain. The objective is to achieve greater impacts on forest preservation, income, and ending child labor, as well as gender equity, nutrition, and climate resilience.
